I have a JG Mauri Clone Ak-47 airsoft clone, I was wondering what size gear box do i have if it is a ver. III gearbox. ex (6mm 7mm 8mm)?

Hey guys I wanted to purchase a decent airsoft ak 47 aeg. I just am having trouble finding a good brand. The most I’m willing to spend is about 200 dollars. I would prefer fake wood and a full stock.

I was thinking of buying an airsoft Ak-47. I would like something that will last for a long time and will not jam. Are there any guidelines or any specific brands?

You have the scope primed and start targeting the enemy in blue as you see them scramble over a hill at the sight of your presence. With the prowess and skill of a master sniper, you start picking off the enemy as they run foolishly with their backs to you. You emerge slightly from the tree, firing away and nailing one by one of the blue shirts with your vicious repeat fire from the automatic airsoft paintball gun. Once you have emptied the paintballs from the chamber, you duck back behind the log to reload.

Ready and anxious, you step out from the log and stand. Nobody appears to be around and you smile to yourself, thinking you have taken care of business once and for all. With one final breath, you prepare to stalk over the hill and check your opponent’s last fortress of solitude before they mount a final stand. You take a step forward, hearing a twig crack, and experiencing the sudden sting of pain as a paintball (a red one) sizzles out of an airsoft paintball gun and plants on you squarely in the chest. You’re hit.

PAk army uses g-3 as its primary weapon but in siachen it uses ak-47 or 74, why i that so.

The AK-47 (or Kalashnikov) is a 7.62mm Soviet assault rifle.

This is the one I wanted to fire. Much bigger kick than the M-16. The noise (even with ear defenders on) was incredible. Wikipedia tells me it has a muzzle velocity of 2,300 ft/s. Not sure how far away the target was – maybe 80 – 100ft.

Airsoft is very similar to paintball, however with airsoft no visible marks are left when you are hit. This is because airsoft is played with guns that actually shoot small plastic 6mm ball bearings instead of solid balls of paint. All airsoft guns propel their plastic ball bearings from compressed air, but the air can be compressed in many different ways.

Most of the airsoft bb guns actually compress their air using an electronic gear box system, which works by pulling back a powerful spring (by doing this the air is then compressed) Then there are the single shot airsoft guns (usually airsoft sniper rifles) that feature the same concept, however they do no feature an electrical gearbox (these work by manually cocking the gun before each shot) Lastly, there are the airsoft bb guns that use CO2 (pre-compressed air) to power the gun.  

The single shot spring powered airsoft sniper rifles are the cheapest of the 3 different types of airsoft guns, while the electric AEG airsoft guns and the C02/Gas airsoft rifles are far more expensive. Generally spring airsoft rifles cost about – 0, while the electric and gas powered airsoft rifles tend to cost about 0 – 0 or more.

As far as the battlefields that airsoft is played in, they are usually very realistic. For example, many airsoft battlefields provide walls, bunkers, tactical towers, and in some cases even buildings. Although you should never play with any type of gun an airsoft paintball gun can change the way you play survival games such as paintball. Imagine creeping through the forest with nothing but your airsoft paintball gun and safety goggles to protect you from the vicious onslaught of the other side. You are ducking and weaving like a professional, half out of urgency because the last thing you need it to get pegged with a pellet and half out of expertise because you have the wide-eyed enthusiasm of a professional officer of paintball fame and glory on your side. You calmly duck behind a tree, ready and waiting for the perfect moment to strike. The excitement makes your heart skip a beat and you hope no one can hear your heavy breathing.

Perhaps you’re using an M16 version of an airsoft paintball gun or perhaps it is the classic AK 47 version. Regardless, you are certainly locked and loaded as you wait for your targets to scramble out from behind their covering subterfuge. Your heart is pounding and your eyes are wide and ready for battle. You can almost smell your enemy and yet you do not want to pounce too soon or you will lose it all. You’ve gained some ground, hiding behind this last vestibule of neutral territory, and you’re on the verge of breaking in to the enemy base and freeing your captain with your airsoft paintball gun.

The Last Stand

You emerge finally ready to face the enemy on your own with your firing power from the airsoft paintball gun. You have the scope primed and start targeting the enemy in blue as you see them scramble over a hill at the sight of your presence. With the prowess and skill of a master sniper, you start picking off the enemy as they run foolishly with their backs to you. You emerge slightly from the tree, firing away and nailing one by one of the blue shirts with your vicious repeat fire from the automatic airsoft paintball gun. Once you have emptied the paintballs from the chamber, you duck back behind the log to reload.

Ready and anxious, you step out from the log and stand. Nobody appears to be around and you smile to yourself, thinking you have taken care of business once and for all. With one final breath, you prepare to stalk over the hill and check your opponent’s last fortress of solitude before they mount a final stand. You take a step forward, hearing a twig crack, and experiencing the sudden sting of pain as a paintball (a red one) sizzles out of an airsoft paintball gun and plants on you squarely in the chest. You’re hit. The pain that you feel is not really relevant to the disappointment of getting caught. Now its time for lunch and then its round two!

I just got an airsoft ak-47 in a box of parts except for a selector switch, and my friend somehow managed to turn it to semi auto with a screw driver, but it took like 10 minutes. How can I get just a selector switch?

The Incredible Airsoft Automatic Electric Gun Part II

Perhaps the single greatest reason for the surging world-wide popularity of the Sport of Airsoft was the development of the Automatic Electric Gun or what is commonly referred to as the AEG.

These guns are universally fully automatic replicas of real-world weapons, such as the M-16 and the AK-47. The exhilarating lure of these Airsoft guns lies in their wonderfully designed fully automated firing systems. These guns have batteries, motors, and gears that control the firing mechanism. It is this automated system that creates the power needed to support the exciting rapid-fire feature of the AEG.

The automatic electric Airsoft gun system is battery operated. Depending on the model style, this battery is stored in the handgrip or the stock of the rifle. The big, full-stock Airsoft rifles such as the AK-47 use the larger AEG batteries.

The smaller AEG sub-machine gun models like the M4 or the collapsible stock Airsoft rifles such as the MP5 PDW use the mini or stick batteries. The on board Ni-Cad battery in both models drives a small but powerful motor that in turn powers the AEG.

This is where the magic begins with these guns! Merely pulling the trigger completes a simple electrical circuit that causes the motor inside the AEG to start spinning. The motor then begins to drive the gears in the mech box. The mech box action in turn causes the piston to compress and release.

The motion of the piston creates a blast of air that propels the 6mm plastic bb through the barrel of the gun. It is this fully automated process that gives the AEG its most dynamic and desirable feature: a rate of fire (ROF) ranging between 600-900 rounds-per-minute (RPM).

Like their real life counter-parts, the AEG plastic ammunition BBs are stored in a magazine (a detachable part of the gun that holds the ammunition ready for shooting). There are two types of magazines designed for the AEG Airsoft guns. The first is the low capacity magazine or also known as the (Locap).

Usually, every new AEG comes equipped with a Locap Mag. Depending on the model of the gun, the Locap holds roughly 50-70 BBs. The low-end capacity gun models would include the Thompson SMG and the Airsoft Uzi. The second type of magazine is the high capacity mag, also known as the (Hicap). Once again, depending on the gun model, the Hicap mag will hold between 200-600 BBs. A high-end capacity AEG such as the AK-47 can hold a Hicap mag containing an astonishing 600 BBs.

Although the new models come standard with the Locap mags, most of the larger AEGs can be upgraded to the higher capacity units. Designed to be completely like the guns they replicate, these Airsoft magazines can be changed out as soon they are emptied just like their real counterparts.

With its realistic look and feel, combined with a spectacular automated firing system, the Airsoft automatic electric gun, AEG, continues to grow in its persona and worldwide appeal. Gun enthusiasts, collectors, and avid Airsoft players can all enjoy owning one of these amazing replica guns.

The bottom line is, a quality example of either gun can serve your law enforcement, military, and “civilian sheepdog” requirements admirably. However many factors and considerations should come into play when selecting your choice. When properly maintained and lubricated, the AR-15 is very reliable contrary to many internet, forum, and magazine myths. However it does not rise to the absolute, carefree ruggedness and reliability of the AK design. Whether packed in mud, neglected for cleaning, or just plain thrashed upon, the AK shrugs it all off and continues to shuck rounds with pleasing and life-saving regularity. It is better than the AR-15 system in that regard. It also features a lightning quick and easy fieldstrip. However the AK design has many flaws which include: poorer ergonomics (like its munchkin length of pull), shorter sight radius and inferior sights, heavier magazines and ammunition, difficulty in mounting optics (less variety in application too), slower operational controls, and more recoil. But many accept these shortcomings to gain the increase in stopping power of the larger .30 caliber round. As shown in the video, this 7.62x39mm round pretty much dies after 300 yards but within its range, it hits hard and defeats obstacles much better than the smaller 5.56x45mm offering.
