Rifles aren’t your best bet when it comes to home defense. Usually people go for a shotgun or handgun. But, a rifle is certainly better than nothing.

Destroying Xbox with AK-47!!!!!

Question by A-Man: Is it reliable to fire an AK 47 with the stock folded?
I am in the military and I have a friend that has consistently told me that it is impposible to fire an AK-47(folding stock models) with the stock folded. He said that the weapon will “short-stroke” after a few rounds and stop firing. However in the AK-47 operations manual it says that the weapon can fire with the stock folded and was meant to do so. Can anyone give me a solid answer?

The M16 is actually considered one of the best guns in the game, even though you don’t even have to unlock it. With “stopping power” it can kill in one burst, and it has very little kick. Different people like different guns though – for example, I love the M4 (and do very well with it, I must add) even though most competitive players can’t stand it. The mp5 is also great at closer ranges… you just have to experiment and figure out what gun fits your playing style the best.

Was excited taking shots off that infamous AK-47 Kalashnikov automatic rifle. Although I’ve handled M-16 (AR-15), M203, Ultimax 100 and GPMG before, handling the legendary AK-47 is an awesome feeling. As you can see, my left fingers are not gripping properly because the rifle is tied down to the parapet and there is no way I can get a good hold of it. Either way, I think my grouping (concentration of the rounds at impact) is pretty close together.

Confused me at first. You do not need a Federal Firearms License unless you are going to become a firearms dealer.

If you want to own a fully automatic weapon, you need a Class III license.

Call the ATF and tell them what you want to buy. They will send you the necessary forms to fill out. Expect to wait awhile for them to do the background investigation. I believe the license will cost you about 0.

The last time I looked at the cost of a fully auto weapon, the cheapest I could find was still over ,000.00

Well, if you must have one of these crummy commie junk guns. . ., ah, that is a little harsh. Just keep in mind that these guns were meant to be used by folks barely out of the Stone Age. They are rugged and simple, and loose. Accuracy is not their strong suit.

All that being said, there are plenty of gun shops in your area that probably would have a cheap version of the rifle. Or you can try a couple of the gun auction sites.

I’ve had better luck on auction arms for finding some nice bargains.

Even the cheap AK’s are going for 0 plus, and most I’ve seen are over 0.

If you like the 7.62×39 cartridge, you might try finding a Ruger Mini 30. They sell for about the same price and have a number of after market accessories for them. For the money, it is a much better rifle and it’s American made.

The ar15 fires a 5.56 x 45 mm (a 223 round)
So the ak47 is a bigger round

Weight 3.8kg(8.4 lbs) from 2.27kg-3.9kg (5.5-8.5lbs) (but generally less)
Length 87cm (34 in) depends on barrel length and stock, about the same

So they are about the same length on average, but the ak-47 fires a bigger round and is generally a heavier weapon.

1st off, there is in no way in hell you can tell how many countless souls the AK has claimed, but i bets its in the 100′s of millions.

2ndly, im currently in afghanistan, and i was talking to our terp about how much a AK is worth, he says they run for about 0 here, FYI one goat is worth 0 here aswell, hope this helps with your project.

oh yea awhile back they did a test between the standard issued M4 against the AK, they ended up buring them in mud and dirt, then loaded a mag and fired, the M4 failed as it jammed (gas repelled) but the AK didnt jam or have any problems. its a reliable wepon thats why its been around for so long.

There are quite a few states where they are legal… illinois, New Jersey, and California aren’t “those” states (along with a couple others).

Class three implements are heavily regulated… they aren’t worth the effort/cost of obtaining one.

My wife’s uncle works in a military hospital and told me about this. Its pretty amazing. Kevin Garrad (3rd Infantry Division) was on a street patrol in Iraq (Tikrit I believe) and as he rounded the corner of a building an armed (AK-47) insurgent came from the other side.

The two of them were within just a few feet of each other when they opened fire. The insurgent was killed and Kevin was hit in the left chest where his IPod was in his jacket pocket. It slowed the bullet down enough that it did not completely penetrate his body armor. Fortunately, Kevin suffered no wound.

I thought it was a great story so I posted them here.

I went and ordered myself a 30-round TAPCO AK magazine for my AK-47. I haven’t tested it at the range yet, but feeding is a bit stiff when the bullet feeds from the left side of the magazine. It shouldn’t matter if the bolt is being reset by the gas system though. The feed issue is only coming up when I ease the bolt to home.

40 rounds of Wolf Hollowpoint shot out of a 75 round drum. The gun is a WASR-10. Just some quick info: This was the 3rd time i took my AK out shooting, The first time i’ve shot at a target so close, The first time ive used a drum, and the first time i’ve shot my rifle that fast. yeah, i know, im not the best shot, but i never claimed to be. A lot of shots that appear to have missed actually hit, they just go through and hit the ground behind the console. Watch the black casing and the exposed metal of the console when i shoot, you can see the bullets making holes and denting the metal on shots that appear to be missing. on the shots that miss, you can see the bullet hit the ground. people seem to think that just because gravel flies up, that i missed a shot. well obviously an xbox isnt going to stop a bullet, the bullet is going to travel all the way through and hit the ground behind it, causing GRAVEL TO FLY UP. Common sense people. Saying stupid shit like “lol u missed most of ur shots” is just ignorant, especially if you have never fired a gun yourself. i hope you guys enjoy this video.

I didn’t really understand what was happening until after everything was basically finished, but the bus came upon this little town and stopped. Everyone got off and then stood in line at the military checkpoint and then when they were processed, they crossed the street and waited in line again.

As it turns out, everyone was being checked and having their bags sorted through. As a westerner I was evidently exempt.
