I was just wondering. Can you go to say Arizona and buy a larger caliber AK-47 and bring it into California? The 22 is legal but I was wondering about a larger caliber.
**Edit** I am not hunting anything I just want it for target shooting.

Why do I need a permit to carry a loaded handgun for defensive purposes but am allowed to carry a much more offensively capable weapon loaded with 30 round magazines or even a 75 round drum? What’s up with that????
I got my concealed carry permit revoked for carrying a handgun in my vehicle while drinking and driving so now, I just carry an AK-74 in .223 caliber with 30 round magazine in place. The only place I can find where a feller might get in trouble is with the Game & Fish Commision as they do have regulations that forbid loaded firearms on state & county highways and roads while hunting. I would like to see them make a case that I was hunting in downtown Little Rock at 10 p.m. at night.
sensible_man, I have been arrested while packing an AK-47 on two different occasions and had them returned becuase there is no statute against carrying a long arm loaded and no statute for confiscating it since it isn’t ILLEGAL little man.

STREAKE, the day that the government tells me that I can no longer excercise my second amendment right to keep and bear arms is the day that they will have a real criminal on there hands because, I will always own a gun.

I dont know much about gun purchase laws and I’m not sure if the AK 47 is one of the weapons that people are not allowed to buy in the US. Up until now I have only had handguns and don’t know much about rifles.
I just heard on TV that Izhevsk Mechanical Works, the maker of the original Avtomat Kalashnikova 47, has filed for bankruptcy due to all of the illegal manufacturing of knock off AK-47s in the third world and in China.
I am in particular interested in US gun laws regarding the AKM (AK-47) Kalashnikov modernized assault rifle, caliber 7.62mm.
Anyone know?

What is your favorite variant and in what caliber?
Tom L, nimrod? Is that something your dad used on your momma to create you.
Joe Willson, I like SKS’s and AR-15′s too. I don’t get in pissing matches over guns because I like them all.
I own an NHM-91 (Chinese version of the RPK), Hungarian AMD-65, Romanian SAR 1 and owned an MAK-90, all in 7.62x39mm of course. I also own a Romanian SAR-3 in .223 cal. I own two AR-15′s Bushmaster and DPMS but, I am just totally addicted to AK’s.

The AK 74 has a different caliber than the ak 47 but I recently heard the designer of the m16 state that he would rather have a ak74 because it is more simple and does not jam as much.

I have trying to decide if I want to buy a Polish Tantal in 5.45 or an AR-15. I know the tantal is cheaper, but I have owned an AK-47 (SAR) and hated it. Accuracy sucked, too loud, all around sucked! Anyway I would like to know from owners or people who have shot one are they better than the average AK (I know it is a differenet caliber) or should I spend the extra and just get the AR?

Ive always wanted a Polish tantal wz88 , and im also looking for a back up rifle to go along with my lonely bushmaster xm15 e2s , even though its not the same caliber , the one in particular that im trying to get is an Interarms built rifle , problem is most of the sites online that did sell the interarms wz88 at one point in time are all out of stock , I did notice however that there are allot of Century polish tantals that are in stock , Ive heard negative things about century , I need any reason of why I shouldn’t or should get the AK built by century ?
Century or Interarms ? which one is better? and why ?

What caliber of bullets do the AK-47 and the AR-15 assault rifles shoot?
Also, are the bullets difficult to find?
Are the bullets expensive to buy?

I’m pretty sure that it is but can’t find a source to back this up. All I can find is that the M-16 is the most produced for its caliber. CAn anyone help me find a source?
Thanks for your consideration.

I acquired it secondhand recently. It has a laminated wood stock with thumb hole stock. Chromed barrel interior. 7.62×39 caliber semi-auto. 2 clips one for 6 shot and one for 11 shot. In brand new condition. What should the asking price be?
