Up your budget by about 5 grand at least, then ask. You will also need to get some sort of licence to own one beforehand.

if u live in the us u arent going to be able to have a fully automatic one and why would u need this anyway????????? fully automatic guns are illegal in the united states but im sure u could buy a semi auto only

You won’t find full automatic for $850. You’re looking at about $15000, plus a $200 tax stamp to the US Government, a 6-9 month background check from the ATF, and the permission of the chief of your local law enforcement agency. That’s all the requirements that I can remember, it’s legal, but it’s not cheap.

You ain’t getting a full auto nothing for $850

You will need a $200 tax stamp before you can even consider buying
That comes with at least a couple months worth of red tape that includes a signature from your local sheriff

full auto ammo is sold in the same package as semi auto ammo
It ain’t no different or stronger
Save up a little more and you can get a FA .22 for about $8000

You have several good answers: It’s not going to happen.

Allow me to clarify one thing. A machine gun transfer is not just a $200 tax stamp. The document is an ATF Form 4 NFA Weapon Transfer. National Firearms Act . A Class III Dealer handles the transaction. The weapon serial number is on the Form 4. There are questions similar to a 4473 but more. Police Chief or County Sheriff signs and you picture is attached. There are two of the Form 4. There are two sets of finger prints in th package sent to ATF. Several months go by and the Dealer receives one of the Form 4′s back approved and he may then transfer the machine gun to you. The $200 tax stamp is attached to the document and looks very similar to a postage stamp but a pretty blue color.

So, it’s really a Form 4 not just a $200 Tax Stamp.

And yes, in the end it’s worth the trouble and wait.

You won’t find any full autos in your budget range. You would have to look at spending $15,000-20,000 to be in a realistic price range for one. Sorry, but they have too low of supply and too high of demand to meet your requirements.

To be quite honest, A good Chinese AK like the Polytech Legend series (in semi-auto) would be at the top of your price range (assuming used, instead of a collectable new in box model). Russian ones are out there but the are uncommon and expensive. I saw a beaten up parts kit of one in 2003 and it was priced at $300, and it was only a box of parts that would need to be fit to a seperately purchased receiver.

For $850, you could get a Yugo M70 or you may be able to find a good Bulgarian (Arsenal) AK and get a case of ammo to go with it. If you can settle for something else, I’ve always been happy with my Hungarian AMD-65. Hungarian AKs are still pretty good. Romanian ones will be the cheapest, but the tend to be "hit and miss" in terms of quality. You would want to look at a few and pick out the best to make sure you get a good one.

The best place to get ammo is going to be online. You will want to stick with companies west of the Mississippi river in order to avoid higher shipping charges. http://www.jgsales.com is a good one that i can think of. They are out of arizona, so shipping shouldn’t be too terrible.

Yeah, as the others have said there is no way you will (legally) be able to get a full-auto AK for your current budget. It will probably be at least 10k for you to buy one plus $200 for a tax stamp. NFA weapons are legal in Oregon, but you will still have to go through a lengthy process to get it. The AK47 shoots the 7.62x39mm round which is readily available at any sporting goods store. It is the same round the semi-auto versions fire, so getting ammo is no problem at all. I’d suggest you look into getting a semi-auto one to see if you like it before you spend a ton of cash to get the real deal. If you check out gunbroker.com you will find many semi-autos in your $850 price range.
